Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckles
(Gürtelschnallen). A pair of Enlisted personnel belt buckles, including a Heer buckle, constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, maker marked “B&N” for Berg and Nolte, Lüdenscheid, with a manufacture date of “42”, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in very fine condition, and; a HJ buckle, constructed of nickel-plated bronze, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching HJ insignia, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “72” for Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with minor scratching and loss of finish evident, in near extremely fine condition.
