Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Belt Buckles
(Gürtelschnallen). A pair of belt buckles, including a Heer EM/NCO’s buckle, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with oak leaf branches, the reverse with swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 47 mm (h), with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in poor condition, and; a Reich Labour Service (RAD) Enlisted Personnel belt buckle, constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a central raised RAD insignia within a circular wheat stalk wreath, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some bending and oxidation evident, in very fine condition.
