A German National Socialist School Student Belt with Buckle; Published Example
Buckle with a two-piece construction on the right end, brass base with an aluminum horizontal Wolfsangel affixed in the centre, unmarked, 37.2 mm x 53.5 mm, on a dark brown smooth finished belt with raw reverse, tab stitched in place on the reverse on the right end with eight rows of two holes each for length adjustment, receiving clip on the left end, the belt measuring 34 mm x 685 mm, spotting and light contact on the buckle, the belt exhibiting crazing in the finish from active use, near extremely fine. This particular buckle is illustrated on page 309 of "Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich, Revised Edition" by John R. Angolia and came from his personal collection. Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
