Germany, Kriegsmarine. An Officer Brocade Dress Belt
Instituted 15 December 1921. A circular belt buckle constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse centre bears a fouled anchor on a horizontally ribbed background encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse is plain and is affixed with a metal keeper and a metal hook, the number “86” is handwritten on the reverse centre, measuring 61 mm, on a dress belt constructed of a ribbed silver/aluminum tresse and backed with navy cloth, ton the left side a metal keeper is sewn into place for the buckle to hook to, beside that is a loop constructed of the same silver/aluminum tresse, the right end is triangular with a small hook attached at the end, eight metal grommets are located on the inside of the belt for the metal hook at the end of the tresse to hook into, two small metal swivel rings are located on the inside of the belt and each are covered by a patch of navy cloth, measuring 910 mm (l) x 54 mm (h), very fine.
