(Luftwaffe Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse with a central raised Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, within an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the reverse with a loop and dual attachment prongs connected to a period original brown leather strap with a partially-legible maker’s mark reading “OBERSTEIN 1939”, the reverse of the buckle bearing a maker’s mark of “F.R.” for Franz Reischauer, Oberstein, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
