Germany, Luftwaffe. An Standard Service Belt Buckle, by F.W. Assmann, c. 1941
(Luftwaffe Koppelschloss). Constructed of stamped gray-painted steel; the obverse with a raised pebbled field depicting a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by a laurel wreath with berries that is tied together at the base of the buckle; the reverse plain, with a soldered catch and a standard dual prong spring bar; attached to the spring bar is a light brown leather belt tab - marked “F.W. Assmann, Lüdenscheid” and dated “1941” on the obverse; measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h); in mint condition.
