Buckle in stamped aluminum with polished highlights, 48mm, featuring the diplomatic national emblem with head facing to its right, and surrounded by a full laurel leaves wreath, unmarked; with brocade dress belt, 44mm high, constructed of interwoven aluminum flat wires, sitting on top of dark blue velvet backing; through the center of belt all the way around running two dark blue stripes, each approx. 5mm wide, in dark blue threads; leather tongue stitched from reverse bears a maker’s mark “JFRJ” and also have stamped length (110-125cm); high quality belt and buckle, in virtually mint condition. Footnote: similar belt and buckle are illustrated and described in Angolia’s book, p.527, where Angolia refers to this type of belt and buckle used for the first time during the 1938 visit to Italy. A rare buckle and brocade belt in top condition.
