An NSDAP Belt with Buckle
Fabricated from a thick leather, upper with a reddish-brown finish, the reverse in raw leather, marked "289 Croupon" on the underside tab, two-prong pebbled gilt aluminum buckle stitched in place and marked with the RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) insignia, "UE 10" and twice marked "D", the opposite end of the belt with two rows of eight die holes each for length adjustment, marked in silver ink "14" with a partial maker mark nearby on the underside, the belt measuring 58 mm wide x 1,090 in length, exhibiting soiling and wear overall from very active use, better than fine. Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
