An SS Officer's Belt with Buckle by Overhoff & Cie, Ludenscheid
                Buckle: In silvered zinc, reverse marked with the RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) insignia inside a circle on the top row, the SS Runes inside a circle beside "36" over "42" inside a circle on the middle row, and maker marked with the "OLC" (Overhoff & Cie, Ludenscheid) insignia on the third row on the reverse, the buckle measuring 49.3 mm. Belt fabricated from a very thick, durable leather with a smooth finished black upper, smooth finished beige underside, silvered aluminum receiving clip held firmly in place where the belt wraps around to the reverse on the end, faded rectangular stamp in black ink on the underside with "F.F.H." clearly legible, smooth finished black leather tab stitched in place to the underside on the right end, with seven rows of two holes each for length adjustment, emboss stamped with the "CROUPON" quality mark where the tab is stitched to the body of the belt, emboss stamped in black ink "98" on the right end on the underside, the belt with two sliders with smooth finished black uppers, the belt measuring 4.3 cm x 102 cm. With only light contact and period wear, remains extremely fine. Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R.
