Germany, Third Reich. A 1936 Certificate of Winter Relief Hamburg Welfare Program
Measuring 14.7 x 20.9 cm; Date of items: 1936. Fair, parts of the top missing. A “certificate of comradery in the fight against hunger and the cold” from the Winter Relief of the German People, 1935/36, of the Gau of Hamburg. It shows a picture of the Stone Gate, one of the original medieval city gates which, at this time, was no longer standing. On the bottom right there is a stamp of the Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People’s Welfare), the organization that ran the Winter Relief program.
