A 1938 Marriage Announcement; Stamped by Porsche Automotive Firm
Marriage announcement of Heinrich Graf Schönfeldt with Porsche stamp, 14 x 19 cm; Date of item: 1938; Condition: very good; A marriage announcement for Engineer Heinrich Graf Schönfeldt and Dr. jur. Albine Resch. The address is Wien (Vienna) 9, Porzellangasse 4, the date is Dec 1938. On the back there is a company stamp from Porsche. Heinrich Graf Schönfeldt (1884–1963) was fascinated by engineering and technology from a very early age. He was one of the first 100 Austrians to obtain a driver’s licence. In 1906 he was chosen to drive the very first armoured car, the Austro-Daimler Panzerwagen, a prototype early tank with a dome, housing two machine guns. Starting in pre WWI years, Schönfeldt worked for the Daimler company in Wiener Neustadt and was a good friend of chief constructor Ferdinand Porsche. From 1908 til at least the late 1920s he also had had a very successful race car career. His wife Albine Resch was born in 1912 and died in 1944. The card is foldable, but the inside is empty. You can make out the faint print of the back-to-front number 1509 and a crown with a ribbon underneath.
