A 1940 German Propaganda Film Leaflet Promoting Jud Süß
An issue of the Illustrierter Film-Kurier, a movie magazine, about the movie “Jud Süß”. 8 pages, measuring 220x291mm, extremely fine condition, slight rip, sewing has partially loosened. Page 2 has a list of actors and actresses as well as other participants in the making of the movie. Pages 5 to 7 state a detailed plot summary.
Footnote: “Jud Süß” is a Nazi propaganda movie from 1940. The main character is a Jew from Frankfurt, Süß Oppenheimer, who is invited to the Royal Court of Württemberg by the Duke to generate money for him. Oppenheimer begins to impose unreasonable taxes on the people in the name of the Duke, who wants to become an absolute monarch. In the end, the people rise against them, drive out the Duke and kill Oppenheimer.
