Three Wound Badge documents, measuring 139x199mm, very fine (gold), extremely fine (silver), and near extremely fine (black). The recipient is Obergefreiter (Senior Lance Corporal) Gottlieb Czech.

 

The Gold certificate states that he is part of the 14th Company of Mountain troop Regiment 227. It is dated to the Reserve Military Hospital Mindelheim on July 4, 1945 and signed by an Oberfeldarzt and the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, the name is indecipherable.

 

The Silver certificate states that Czech is part of the 7th Company of Grenadier Regiment 232. It is dated to the Reserve Military Hospital I Bayreuth on April 14, 1944 and signed by an Oberfeldarzt and the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, the name is indecipherable.

 

The Black certificate states that Czech is part of the 10th Company of Infantry Regiment 232. It is dated to Russia on April 29, 1942 and signed by a Captain and Battalion Leader, his name is indecipherable.



Footnote:

Obergefreiter Gottlieb Czech was wounded on April 19, 1942, November 29, 1942, September 16, 1943, either January 13 or 14, 1944, and March 23, 1945. On all of these occasions, Czech’s divisions served on the Eastern Front. The first two wounds were received in the Rzhev area on the road to Moscow. The third and fourth wound were received during defensive battles, the third in the Gomel area, presumably during the Russian Gomel-Rechitsa Offensive on the Belorussian Front, the fourth in the vicinity of the river Pripyat. The location of where the final wound was received is unknown. The last known location of Czech’s division was Silesia.
