His wife was Lieselotte (Lilo) Gerlach, nee Geisler from Halle/S.; Textile bag with two buttons, 25 x 20 cm; Small book: pages with cord binding, 8.3 x 12.9 cm; Big book: Collection of letters and notebooks, 17.5 x 21.2 cm. Date of items: 1945-1947; Condition: scuffed; handle with care. Footnote: The small book contains: notes on significant events, both personal and concerning the war in ‘45, list of personal belongings, testament, list of books read in captivity, list of home addresses of other prisoners, personal diary (Jan 1st, 1946 to Feb 4th, 1947, day of returning to Germany) The big book contains: letters to wife and family, some written on the backside of news magazine “Der Pflug” (The Plough), “magazine for the imprisoned officers of camp 307” (camp 307 was located in Fanara/Fayed, West of the Great Bitter Lake, a part of the Suez Canal), and poems.
