A Congratulatory Letter from the Reichsluftschutzbund
(National Air Raid Protection League), measuring 217x298mm, better than very fine condition with a few age spots and some minor fraying at the top. The letter is sent by the League’s group of the Ostmark (Austria) and is addressed to the mayor’s office of the city of Wiener Neustadt on June 10, 1939. The League congratulates the local district group of Wiener Neustadt–Neunkirchen for being the best one in terms of air raid protection in the entire Ostmark. However, to continue its work and to start its task of training every civilian of the area, it will need more money than just its funds from the membership fees. Therefore, the League asks for tax subsidies. The document bears the names of Luftschutzführer Iwo Egghart and Obertruppenmeister A. Novak.
