A DAF Deutsche Arbeitsfront/German Labour Front Jahres Sportkarte/Sport Booklet belonging to Büne Gerhardt, born on November 11, 1924 in Schwabonhausen, and joined the DA on May 5, 1941. The Sport Booklet features several fee validation stamps and records that Brüno was issued 1 pair of gymnastics pants, 1 gymnastics shirt, and 1 pair of gymnastics shoes. The reverse side of the front cover features an inspirational quote printed in ink, translated “It is not our goal to raise Matadors, we simply want to introduce healthy and happy people in our factories. Because, a healthy Volk is 90% of the answer to the Social question”. The booklet measures 151 mm x 106 mm, and is in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Robert Ley (February 15, 1890 - October 25, 1945) was a politician within the NSDAP and head of the German Labour Front between 1933 and 1945. He was close to Adolf Hitler, and although he was known to be arrogant, incompetent, and oftentimes extremely drunk, Hitler thought very fondly of him.
