A Second War German ID & Saxon Refugee Card
An ID card and a refugee ID. Both are 4 page folders, measuring 79x145mm and 105x150mm respectively, ID card in near mint condition, refugee ID very fine with one substantial rip. The owner of both is Walter Berndroth. The ID card was issued by the police department of the city of Essen, western Germany, on August 5, 1928, and is signed by a police official named Borghoff. The refugee ID was issued in Wechselburg, Saxony, on October 11, 1945. Berndroth and his wife had been expelled from Mühlheim an der Ruhr, western Germany. Footnote: Walter Berndroth was born on May 17, 1873 in Essen, Prussia. He worked as a merchant. When he was expelled from Mühlheim, his occupation was pensioner. His wife was born on June 22, 1878. Her name is not stated.
