Germany, Luftwaffe. A Set of Wartime Issued Artwork
A Luftwaffe memorabilia folder called “Kunst der Front” (Art of the Front), measuring 215x299mm, containing 11 pages, 210x296mm, extremely fine condition with minor scuffing and wrinkling, and minor age discolouration. The first page dedicates the folder, made possible by members of the Luftwaffe, to the soldiers of the Luftwaffe on Christmas 1941, for their outstanding service during the war. This particular folder was given to a member of the 2./Lg. Nachr. Regt. 12, Nachschub-Ln. Zug (2nd Company of the Luftgau Signals Regiment 12, Reserve Aerial Signals Platoon). It is signed in blue ink by Senior Lieutenant and Platoon Leader Kopf or Köpf The second page is a copy of the “Rußland-Lied”, the Russia song, a German song celebrating the soon to be won invasion of Russia. The remainder of the pages are drawings, many different techniques, of wartime front situations. On the back of the folder is a list of content. Pages 2, 6, and 12 are missing. The folder states again that all artworks have been created by soldiers of the Luftwaffe. Ideal for framing.
