Germany, Heer. A Collection Of Army Feldpost Letters, 1941-1944
The collection consists of ten letters, eight of which remain in their original envelopes, as well as eleven envelopes with the letters missing. They are dated to between February 1941 and June 1944. They include mail from the following soldiers: Obergefreiter (Corporal) Christian Kästle, writing to his parents from the Eastern Front, Feldpost number 27377, Pionier Battalion 5. Leutnant Jakob Heff, writing to a female friend, Anneliese Hauck, from the Eastern Front, Feldpost number 14000, 2nd Schallmess (sonic detection of enemy artillery) Battery of Beobachtungs-Abteilung (Observer Battalion) 34. Feldwebel Wolfram Becher, also writing to Anneliese Hauck, Feldpost numbers 21310 D (Infantry Regiment 417), 30486 C (Reserve Infantry Battalion 444), later 48602 D (Infantry Regiment 869), and 35453 (Panzer Grenadier Regiment 111). Soldat (soldier) Karl Hof, later Gefreiter, writing to family Hinders from the Eastern Front, Feldpost number 20287, Pionier Battalion 31. Measuring between 156x94mm and 161x115mm, between fine and extremely fine condition with varying levels of scuffing and fraying.
