Germany, Heer. A Collection Of Documents To Artillery Obergefreiter Wilhelm Meier
The collection consists of: an Iron Cross 2nd Class award document (141x199mm, very fine); a War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords award document (139x198mm, very fine); a period photo (135x85mm, very fine). The Iron Cross 2nd Class award document is named to Obergefreiter (Corporal) Wilhelm Meier of the 3rd Battery of Artillery Regiment 33. It is dated to November 1, 1944 and signed in pencil by the commander of the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division, Oberst (Colonel) Hans-Joachim Deckert (1904–1988), a recipient of the German Cross in Gold. The War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords award document is named to Meier in the same rank and of the same unit as stated above. It is dated to July 15, 1944 and signed in blue ink by the Adjutant of the 15th Panzer Grenadier Division, a Major, the name is illegible. The period photo shows three soldiers, presumably one of them is Meier.
