Constructed of off-white paper stock with gilt and black ink, named to “OBERARZT WALTER HUGO” of Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 12 (12th Armoured Reconnaissance Company), dated “25. MAI 1944”, featuring a handwritten signature of an unidentified Hauptmann in command of the company, measuring 210 mm (w) x 296 mm (h), minor creasing evident, in overall extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Attached to 12. Panzer-Division (12th Panzer Division), at the time of Hugo’s death the unit was deployed to the Eastern Front with Army Group North, in close proximity to Ostrov following the former’s retreat after the failure of the Siege of Leningrad.
