(Beförderungsurkunde). A promotion document for Karl Arnold, promoting the recipient to from Hauptmann to Major, effective 1 April 1940, constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, issued at the Führerhauptquartier (Führer Headquarters) on 16 March 1940, featuring a facsimile signature of the Führer and a handwritten signature of General Walther von Brauchitsch, the obverse bottom left with an embossed Wehrmacht seal, measuring 258 mm (w) x 355 mm (h), accompanied by its period original folio, constructed of off-white card stock, the exterior of the cover bearing a gold embossed Heer-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a white threaded cord wrapped around the spine securing the document in place, unmarked, measuring 260 mm (w) x 370 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
