What's a max bid?

(Heer Wehrpaß). Constructed of field-grey card stock, the interior with 54 paginated pages filled with handwritten entries and retaining a black-and-white photo of the bearer, identified as “GEORG BAUER”, measuring 11.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), retaining a studio portrait of a Luftwaffe Helferin in uniform, the lower right corner bearing an embossed studio mark, the reverse bearing a handwritten dedication, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 13 cm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.

 

Footnote: Georg Bayer was born on 4 May 1910 in Lausheim, Württemberg, to Catholic parents Karl and Lina. He became available for military service on 25 August 1938, swearing into 3. Kopanie, Ersatz-Artillerie-Abteilung 77 in the spring of 1940. He later served in both the Balkan Campaign and Eastern Front with Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment 94, earning the Eastern Front Medal on 15 August 1942. He was killed in action on 5 October 1943 in Russia.
