What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Imperial. A Militärpaß and Landsturmschein to Sergeant Kurt Serzisko (EK1)

The Militärpaß is dated to Frankenstein on August 24, 1920 and signed by a Lieutenant and Adjutant of Infantry Regiment No. 63, the name is illegible. Measuring 86x139mm, very fine condition with some scuffing and creasing, and light soiling. The Landsturmschein (homeland militia certificate) is dated to Gleiwitz (present-day Gliwice, southern Poland) on June 10, 1911. Measuring 84x145mm, near very fine condition with folding crease and some scuffing and fraying.

Footnote: Kurt Erich Serzisko was born on September 3, 1889 in Oppeln (present-day Opole, southwest Poland). He worked as an office assistant before being drafted into the Landsturm in June, 1911. Serzisko joined the army on March 1, 1915 and was placed in Grenadier Regiment No. 10. He fought in Romania and France and was awarded both classes of the Iron Cross. In 1916, Serzisko was wounded, shot in the left upper lip, for which he had to be treated in the Feldlazarett in Cambrai. He was promoted to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) on June 24, 1916 and to Unteroffizier (NCO) on December 10, 1917. Serzisko was transferred to Infantry Regiment 63 on December 18, 1918. He was promoted to Sergeant on March 31, 1920, and that same year, on August 31, was discharged due to the German army’s demilitarisation effort in compliance with the Treaty of Versailles.
