Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Luftwaffe. A Battle of France Stuka Oil Painting, by H. Gudd

A fine oil painting on canvas panel, the painting is situated vertically and is of a battle scene with two Junkers Ju 87 planes (dive bombers) on a dark, cloudy sky, one left-flying in the immediate foreground, the other in the background dropping a bomb, the planes are dark with Balkenkreuz detailing on the wings and sides, below are two allied tanks (possibly French), the left tank is at an angle as an explosion is taking place underneath its right side, the right tank is shooting out of the barrel, both are encompassed by clouds of smoke, the ground is barren and muddy and tree stumps are at the bottom right side, the artist used earthy, muted, natural tones throughout with a raised impasto finish, the painting brings a feel of aggressiveness and chaos due to its subject matter, colours, tones and techniques used, the bottom right is signed “H. Gudd”, within a silver leaf painted wooden frame with raised edges, the reverse bears a triangle-shaped hanging loop at the 12 o’clock position, the canvas panel is marked “Pelikan Sorte 145L Nr. 32 Griße 50 cm x 37 cm”, the canvas panel is held in place by 13 finishing nails and measures 370 mm (w) x 500 (h), with frame measuring 435 mm (w) x 560 mm (h), very fine.
