The sender is the President of the German Olympics Committee, Reichssportführer (National Sports Leader) Hans von Tschammer und Osten. The recipient is Heinrich Forkert. The Participants’ Celebration on account of the Olympic Games in Berlin took place in the Deutschlandhalle on August 16, 1936. The address on the envelope states that Forkert was located “im Hause” (in the building), presumably making him a member of the Olympics Committee. The notes in pencil are illegible. Invitation measuring 229x170mm, near mint condition. Envelope measuring 238x179mm, extremely fine condition with light scuffing and very little damage due to opening.
