(Dienstaltersliste der Schutzstaffel für 1937). A rare and well-preserved Dienstaltersliste der Schutzstaffel, 1937 edition. Bound in a heavy card stock binding with a faux black leather exterior, the cover bears a white embossed Schutzstaffel (SS) insignia above an inscription of “DIENSTALTERSLISTE DER SCHUTZSTAFFEL DER NSDAP” (“SENIORITY LIST OF THE SCHUTZSTAFFEL [PROTECTION FORCES] OF THE NSDAP”), in turn above a date of 1 December 1937. The interior contents consists of 401 pages listing all SS officers between the ranks of Reichsführer-SS and SS-Untersturmführer. Accompanying the names is information including SS and NSDAP membership numbers, birthdates and, where applicable, awards received from service in the First World War. The book includes both a legend and index. It was published in 1937 by the Reichsdruckerei (the Reich’s official printing house) in Berlin. It measures 222 mm (w) x 295 mm (h). While well-preserved, the book displays some age-appropriate signs of wear, including material fatigue of the exterior liner throughout the spine, some fraying of the binding, discolouration of the pages, and a postwar stamp of “CARDED” on the interior title page. It is in an overall better than very fine condition.
