The certificate states that Unterscharführer (NCO equivalent) Hubert Kappel, born March 8, 1918, has passed the Schirrmeister.K (vehicle maintenance sergeant) exam. It is dated to Vienna on December 21, 1942 and carries a facsimile signature of SS-Oberführer Walther Neblich, Commander of the SS automotive training centre. On the document it is stated that: “Who wants to live has to fight - and who doesn’t want to fight in this world of perpetual struggle doesn’t deserve to live”. Measuring 480 mm (w) x 680 mm (h), presenting light creasing, and minor fraying of the edges, remains better than very fine. Accompanied by original postal tube with address label.
