What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

Germany, SS Totenkopf. A Wehrpaß To Dachau & Stutthof Guard

The Wehrpaß is named to Willi Reibl and dated to Marburg/Drau (present-day Maribor, Slovenia) on October 20, 1942. It is of the second type. Measuring 105 mm (w) x 147 mm (h), presenting light scuffing and fraying of the edges and on the spine, and light creasing of the cover; top half of the body of the book has come loose, otherwise interior remains undamaged; in overall very fine condition.

Footnote: Willi Reibl was born on May 26, 1920 in Djakovo (Đakovo), Croatia. He worked as a butcher. Reibl joined the SS on September 14, 1942 in Breslau (present-day Wrocław, southern Poland). He was deemed fit for “garrison duty, field” and placed in the 2nd Convalescent Company of SS Infantry Replacement Battalion “East”. The unit was later renamed to SS Grenadier Replacement Battalion “East” (mot.), and Reibl served in the 5th Company until January of 1943.

Between January and August of 1943, Reibl served in the SS Totenkopf-Sturmbann Stutthof, a concentration camp near Danzig which operated mainly as a forced labour camp. Between August 1943 and March 1945, Reibl was part of the SS Totenkopf-Sturmbann Concentration Camp Dachau. No further information is given, and Reibl’s fate remains unknown. Reibl received a single promotion to SS-Sturmmann of the reserve on December 1, 1943.
