What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Second War Period Documents

A lot of four Second War period documents, including:

A letter on a single sheet of paper, measuring 149 mm (w) x 218 mm (h). It is written and signed by HJ Stammführer Nötzold in Pirna, with a date of 20 May 1942. Nötzold requests to be informed of HJ youth leaders who will be on leave during school holidays which will be occuring simultaneously with an HJ performance week. Stamped on the bottom left with the NSDAP HJ Pirna district seal. Minor fatigue is evident to the edges of the paper, which also shows age-appropriate yellowing, but it is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.

An insurance document, measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h) when unfolded and constructed of off-white card stock. Issued to Rudolf Braun, born 30 April 1924 in Altenburg, Thuringia. Issued 19 October 1941 and partially affixed with stamps on the reverse, the last of which is dated 17 May 1942. In near extremely fine condition.

An identification card for a foreign labourer in Germany, measuring 147 mm (w) x 219 mm (h) when folded and constructed of tan-coloured card stock. Features black and white photograph of recipient, along with ink fingerprints. Issued 13 April 1943. Some tearing of the interior seam has repaired with tape, otherwise in a near very fine condition.

A bomb damage claims card, measuring 100 mm (w) x 201 mm (h) and constructed of off-white card stock. Issued by the town of Kellinghusen, Schleswig-Holstein. Undated and unused. Some soiling but otherwise in very fine condition.
