A pair of books, including a 1936 copy of “OLYMPIA 1936”, volume two, constructed of a card stock binding with a dark blue canvas exterior liner, the interior contents consisting of 165 paginated pages featuring detailed accounts and statistics of the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics, supplemented by an array of black-and-white cigarette card-style photographs which have been pasted into the book, published by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona-Bahrenfeld, measuring 245 mm (w) x 315 mm (h), slight discolouration is evident but the book demonstrates no damage or loss of images and is in an overall near extremely fine condition, and; a 1942 edition of “GLÜCKHAFTE STRATEGIE” (“JOYOUS STRATEGY”), constructed of a card stock binding with non-paginated interior pages detailing the history of the first two-and-a-half years of the war, with detailed information on the German campaigns in Western Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa, as well as the Eastern Front, supplemented by tactical maps and black-and-white illustrations, also complemented by propaganda on the historicity of Germany’s motivations, published by decree of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (Supreme Command of the Armed Forces), measuring 245 mm (w) x 320 mm (h), demonstrating significant issues consistent with age and handling, including deterioration of the spine with separation of the exterior binding, material fatigue of the remainder of the binding and pages, and soiling throughout, in an overall poor condition.
