A pair of books, including a 1933 edition of “DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHT” (“GERMANY AWAKENED”), constructed of a heavy card stock binding with a brown canvas exterior liner, the cover bearing a gilt embossed title topped by a profile of a Sturmabteilung (SA) Stormtrooper, the interior with 150 paginated pages supplemented by an index, featuring a detailed history of the NSDAP’s rise to power from its early period following the First World War, through the “Kampfzeit” (“Time of Struggle”), and into its first electoral successes and consolidation of power in 1933, supplemented by an array of black-and-white and full-colour cigarette album-style photographs which have been pasted into the book, published in 1933 by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona Bahrenfeld, measuring 245 mm (w) x 310 mm (h), with moderate and age-appropriate material fatigue evident, in better than very fine condition, and; a 1934 edition of “ALLES FÜR DEUTSCHLAND: 2000 JAHRE DEUTSCHE GESCHICHTE UND DEUTSCHES HELDENTUM” (“EVERYTHING FOR GERMANY: 2000 YEARS OF GERMAN HISTORY AND GERMAN HEROISM”), constructed of a light card stock binding, the interior with 104 paginated pages featuring an abridged history of German warfare from Roman times until the First World War and rise to power of the NSDAP, supplemented by full-colour cigarette album-style illustration which have been pasted in place, with several images missing without evidence of ever being set in place, published in 1934 by Orientalischen Cigaretten Compagnie Yosma, Bremen, measuring 240 mm (w) x 320 mm (h), with moderate soiling and material fatigue evident throughout, in very fine condition.
