Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Reisepässe to Leon and Alla von Hauffe
(Reisepässe). A pair of Reisepässe, including one named to Leon von Hauffe, constructed of an olive-drab card stock binding, the cover with a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the cover with an inscription of “DEUTSCHES REICH REISEPASS”, with an issue number of “16530”, the interior with 32 pages named to “LEON JOHN WALKER VON HAUFFE”, issued by the German Consulate in Shanghai on 21 October 1940, with a black-and-white photo of the bearer, indicating that he was born in Vladivostok on 10 August 1906 and at the time of issue was a resident of Tokyo, with a six month entry visa to Japan dated 20 March 1942, with renewal indicated by the German Consulate in Yokohama on 27 April 1944, measuring 110 mm (w) x 164 mm (h); accompanied by a second Reisepass, of identical construction and composition, the cover with an issue number of “16531”, named to “ALLA VON HAUFFE” (born BÖTTHER), with black-and-white photograph of the bearer with a photo of a child, indicating that she was born in Chita (Russian Empire) on 27 March 1911, with a six month entry visa to Japan dated 17 August 1942, with renewal indicated by the German Consulate in Yokohama on 27 April 1944, measuring 110 mm (w) x 164 mm (h); both in near extremely fine condition.
