Germany, Third Reich. A Signed Photo of Rudolf Hess, with Calling Card
(Rudolf Hess Foto mit Unterschrift und Visitenkarte). A signed prewar photo of Deputy Führer Rudolf Hess, depicted in a civilian suit and trench coat with a group of unidentified individuals outside of a Junkers Ju 52 aircraft, the lower half of Hess overlaid by his handwritten signature in clear black ink, the lower right corner bearing the embossed mark of a Norrköping studio indicating that the image was likely captured on Hess’ 1935 visit to Sweden, measuring 166 mm (w) x 107 mm (h), concealed within an original white card stock folio with a wax paper liner protecting the image, unmarked, measuring 186 mm (w) x 126 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; accompanied by Hess’ calling card, constructed of light cream-coloured card stock, bearing a central black ink inscription of “RUDOLF HEß, PRIVATSEKRETÄR AH’S”, with additional inscriptions of “KANZLEI AH’S, MÜNCHEN 2, SCHELLINGSTR. 50, FERNSPRECHER 29031” and “MÜNCHEN” at the lower left and right corners, respectively, measuring 120 mm (w) x 75 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
