Germany, Third Reich. An Award Document for an Order of the German Eagle to Rafael Arrancudiaga, Spanish Minister of Industry and Commerce
(Verleihungsurkunde für Verdienstkreuz des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler, I. Stufe). Constructed of off-white card stock with black ink, the obverse bearing a large black ink typewritten dedication to Rafael Arrancudiaga in his capacity as Spanish Minister of Industry and Commerce, awarding the Merit Cross of the Order of the German Eagle, dated 6 July 1942, featuring a facsimile signature of the Führer and the handwritten signature of Staatsminister Otto Meissner, flanked by an embossed national seal, measuring 25 cm (w) x 36 cm (h), concealed within a period original off-white card stock folio, with the cover bearing a gilt embossed German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, accompanied by a booklet featuring the statutes of the order, constructed of off-white paper stock and featuring non-paginated interior pages bearing the provisions of the award in black Fraktur script, measuring 21 cm (w) x 29.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition, both contained within a period original envelope, constructed of off-white card stock with Arrancudiaga’s name and title in handwritten black ink, measuring 37.5 cm (w) x 27 cm (h), with age-appropriate material fatigue evident, in very fine condition.
