Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Private Wartime Photo Albums

A pair of private wartime photos albums, including one constructed of a card stock binding with a faux black leather exterior liner, the cover bearing a silvered inscription of “KRIEGSERINNERUNGEN” (“WAR MEMORIES”), the spine perforated with four holes reinforced by black-painted magnetic metal grommets through which is looped a drawstring to maintain the album’s structural integrity, the interior content consisting of 18 black card stock pages, most separated by intact or partially intact wax paper dividers to protected the images, pasted with 142 black-and-white images depicting the wartime experiences of a Heer soldiers, with the images largely depicting life on occupation duty in Western Europe and within Greater Germany, including images of drills, inspections, and soldiers at leisure, the album measuring 340 mm (w) x 245 mm (h), the cover is missing a Stahlhelm decorations, there is some loosening of the binding, a small number of photos have become detached from their pages, and several of the wax paper dividers are torn, creased, or separated, the album is in an overall fair condition and; an album constructed of a card stock binding with a faux yellow leather exterior liner, the interior content consisting of 24 card stock pages pasted with 182 black-and-white wartime images supplemented by 85 postwar images in both colour and black-and-whte, the former indicating that the album belonged to a Heer NCO who saw extensive wartime service on the Eastern Front, with images of soldiers in the field, training, and a leisure, accompanied by images of Wehrmacht field graves (with one indicating that the owner might have been associated with Artillerie-Regiment 90), the album measuring 255 mm (w) x 250 mm (h), an interesting compilation of the wartime and postwar life of a Heer soldier in near extremely fine condition.
