This is a notice of death of Waffen-SS Sturmmann Richard Bürkle, dated September 8, 1944 at March am Neckar. The first paragraph reads “In the fierce struggle for the freedom of Greater Germany, we have now suffered our first blood sacrifice. Dead due to a Bolshevik bullet, our schoolmate…”. The last paragraph announces that the funeral procession will be held on Sunday, September 10, at the Alexander Church, together with fallen soldier Richard Stängle. On heavy paper, in black Gothic lettering, with black borders, measuring 151 mm x 93 mm. The envelope in paper, with black borders, measuring 156 mm x 100 mm. The letter in mint condition, with the envelope coming apart in some areas due to age; very fine condition.
