This particular pages contains the picture and signature of SS-Standartenführer Hellmuth Becker. The page itself measures 14.8x19.9 cm newspaper clipping measuring 3.5x7cm; Below it he is identified as Regiment Commander in the SS-Panzergrenadier-Division “Totenkopf” (Death’s Head); Becker' signature is strong and in blue ink. Footnote: Hellmuth Becker (1902–1953) was a recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves. In July 1944, he was given command of the Division “Totenkopf”. He was awarded the Oak Leaves for his leadership role of the division fighting successfully in Romania, around Grodno. He was promoted to SS-Standartenführer in May 1940 and appointed a regiment commander in August 1941. In early 1944 he was promoted to SS-Oberführer. This dates the item to between August 1941 and early 1944. He eventually made SS-Brigadeführer.
