An SS Document Group to the 12th Company of Artillery Regiment 9
The grouping consists of: a Soldbuch (salary booklet) replacement (102x138mm, near extremely fine), an SS driver’s licence (96x139mm, very fine with period repairs), and a post-war German ID card (106x148mm, better than very fine).
A field made replacement Soldbuch that has been improvised after the original was lost due to enemy actions on April 16, 1945, and there were no more blank copies available. It is dated to April 21, 1945. The driver’s licence for Class 1 and Class 3 is dated to July 14, 1944. The ID card is multilingual, in German, English, French, and Russian. It is dated to Regensburg (Bavaria) on September 15, 1946 and valid for five years.

Karl Reinhold Hans Gehm was born on August 18, 1913 in Stettin. He worked as a leader in the Reich Labour Service. After joining the SS, Gehm served in the following units: 12th Company of SS Artillery Regiment 9; 6th Company of SS Artillery Regiment 4; Staff of SS
Artillery Regiment 4; 3rd Battalion of SS Artillery Regiment 4; 5th Battalion of SS Artillery Regiment 38. He was awarded the Service Award of the RAD 4th Grade, a War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, a Wound Badge in Black, and an Iron Cross 2nd Class.
