(Heer Soldbuch). A Soldbuch named to Gefreiter Heinz Wohl of the 710th Infantry Division, dated 28 June 1943, measuring 105 mm (w) x 144 mm (h), material fatigue and loose pages are evident, in very fine condition.
Footnote: Heinz Wohl was born 4 June 1925 in Lüdinghausen. He served with the 730th Grenadier Regiment, attached to the 710th Infantry Division, which was part of the occupation force in Fredrikstad, Norway. In July 1944, he was transferred to the 549th Grenadier Division, where he saw action on the Eastern Front against Soviet forces in Lithuania. He suffered a shrapnel injury to the abdomen on 16 August 1944, and as a result was a patient in both field and rear hospitals until 2 January 1945. After his recovery he was attached to the 58th Infantry Division, again seeing action in Lithuania. According to performance records, he was engaged in “close combat” on 16 August 1944, the day he suffered the aforementioned injury, and received the Wound Badge in Black on 28 August 1944. He also received the Iron Cross II Class on 27 February 1945 for his actions in Samland.
