Two Promotion Documents to Luftwaffe artificer Friedrich “Fritz” Ritzenhoff
Measuring 209x297 and 213x305mm, respectively, in near extremely fine to extremely fine condition with light fraying/creasing, folding crease, and two punched holes. One is a promotion for Feuerwerker (Artificer, Sergeant equivalent) of the Staff of Luftgau Command 12, Friedrich Ritzenhoff, to Oberfeuerwerker (Senior Artificer, Master Sergeant equivalent), effective December 1. The document is dated to Wiesbaden on December 26, 1939 and signed in blue ink by the Commanding General and Commander-in-Chief of Luftgau 12, Dr. Eugen Weissmann (1892–1951), a recipient of the German Cross in Silver. Also included is a promotion for Feuerwerker-Unteroffizier (Artificer NCO) Fritz Ritzenhoff of the 3rd Battery of Flak Regiment 14 in Duisburg to “planmäßiger Feuerwerker” (orderly/proper Artificer), effective April 1, 1939. The document is dated to Münster on April 4, 1939 and signed in black ink by the Commander of Luftgau 6, Major General August Schmidt (1883–1955), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross.
