Germany, SS. An Early SS Member’s Identification Card Named to Franz Bogun
(SS Mitgliedskarte). An early SS member’s identification card, constructed of card stock with a watermarked background consisting of swastikas and SS-style German national eagles, the obverse named to “FRANZ BOGUN”, with a membership number of “95961”, featuring a black-and-white photograph of Bogun flanked by his handwritten signature, the reverse bearing a birthdate of 5 March 1911 and a birthplace of Wilken, Johannisburg region, and an enlistment date of 13 September 1933, above a stamped facsimile signature of Heinrich Himmler and an unidentified SS-Standartenführer’s handwritten signature, with a membership stamp for the year 1933, measuring 90 mm (w) x 118 mm (h), three holes have been perforated in the card on the left when viewed from the obverse, an early membership card in overall extremely fine condition.
