A 1944 War Merit Cross First Class Award Document
An award certificate for Gustav Biele, receiving the War Merit Cross 1st Class. It measures 209x296mm. There are visible folding creases, very fine condition. It is dated to the Führer Headquarters on September 1, 1944, and carries Hitler’s facsimile, as well as the one of Otto Meissner (1880–1953), Chief of the Presidential Chancellery. The word below Bieler’s name is either the name of the town he lived in, today a borough of the city of Lauta, Saxony, or the name of an aluminum factory in the same town.
