A Duty Pass & War Merit Cross Award Document to Emmy Wölflinger; Switchboard Operator

Measuring 10.5 x 15 / 14.9 x 21.1 cm; Date of item: 1943/44; A duty pass and an award certificate for a war merit badge for Emmy Wölflinger. Wölflinger (*1922) was eligible to enter the Wehrmachtkommandantur (Wehrmacht commandant’s office) in Saarbrücken and the Großdeutschland-Kaserne (barracks) in Heidelberg. She was an Angestellte im Fernsprechdienst, a switchboard operator. The time stamps show her working between the last quarter of 1943 and the first quarter of 1945. The pass is signed by two colonels, one from Saarbrücken and one from Heidelberg. The first signature is indecipherable, the second one is named Bayer. On Sep 1st, 1944 Wölflinger was awarded a war merit badge by General of the Infantry Schroth of the Stellvertretenden Generalkommando XII. A. K. and Commander of Army Distric XII. His signature is not on the document, but that of a colonel and adjutant, which is indecipherable.
