A War Merit Cross 2nd Class Award Document 1945

It is dated to April 20, 1945, and carries a facsimile of the Wehrmacht Commander for Denmark, Colonel General Georg Lindemann (1884–1963), recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves. Schilling served in the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of Panzer Grenadier Regiment 42, which was only established in March 1945 in Denmark. (C:142)
