A certificate, measuring 147x210mm, fine condition with folding creases, several rips, and thinning of the paper. The Infantry Assault Badge in Silver is awarded to Sanitäts-Feldwebel (Medical Sergeant) Walter Trenkelbach of the 3rd Battalion of Infantry Regiment 168. The document is dated to October 13, 1942 and signed in pencil by Colonel and Regiment Commander Karl Sievers (1892–1961), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross. At the time of the award, the unit was stationed at the southern part of the Eastern Front, in the vicinity of the River Don.
