An Iron Cross 1st Class Award Document to the 1st Company of Light Flak
A certificate, measuring 148x211mm, very fine condition with folding creases, and several rips and tears. It states that Oberwachtmeister (Artillery equivalent of Oberfeldwebel = Senior Sergeant) Lampe of the 1st Company of Light Flak Battalion 783 (v) was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class on May 2, 1945. The document is signed in blue ink by a Major General, possibly Klaus Uebe (1900–1968), Commanding General and Commander of the Luftwaffe Command East Prussia and a recipient of the Knight’s Cross. It shows a stamp of the 1st Battalion of Flak Regiment 29 which at the time, along with Light Flak Battalion 783, were stationed in the vicinity of Königsberg (modern day Kaliningrad, Russia) on the coast of the Baltic Sea.
