From the estate of Helmut Kurt Barth; he was born on 22.5.1920 in Neukirchen; he joined HJ in 1932 (HJ membership booklet with his photo in HJ uniform; pass issued in 1937, along with three more photos in HJ uniform). He was awarded Iron Cross 2nd class 1939 on 11.11.1940 (as Schützen, 6./ I.R. 476), award document signed in ink by Generalmajor; for this occasion, Bürgermeister of Neukirchen sent a congratulatory letter, in December of 1949; on 14.10.1941 Barth received Infantry Badge in Silver (as Gefreiten, 10./ I.R. 476), award document signed in ink by Oberst; on 10. November 1942 Barth received Winter medal 1941/42 (Eastmedal), as Feldwebel, document signed by Leutnant; on February 28, 1944, Barth was wounded and received Black Grade wound badge, as Oberfeldwebel, 1./Grenad.Rgt.267 (document signed in pencil by Major); on 19.5.1944 Barth was wounded again and received Silver Grade wound badge, as Oberfeldwebel, 1./Grenad.Rgt.267 (document signed in pencil by Oberst); also included in a group is Barth’s aluminum ID tag. Documents are folded, in very fine condition.
