A certificate, measuring 209x298mm, extremely fine with light scuffing and discolouration. It states that NSKK Rottenführer (Squad Leader) Gerhard Kamm of the NSKK Transport Brigade Speer is awarded the 2nd Grade of the Social Welfare Badge. The document is dated to Berlin on May 23, 1943 and carries a facsimile of A.H. and Chief of the Presidential Chancellery of the Führer and Chancellor, Otto Meissner.
Footnote: The NSKK Transport Brigade Speer, eventually named Transportkorps Speer, was a sub-organisation of the NSKK subject to architect Albert Speer. It was initially founded to transport building materials for Speer’s project of rebuilding Berlin to become the “world capital
Germania”. However, with the outbreak of the war, it focused more on providing materials for Speer’s military building projects, like plane factories, airports, and bunkers. In 1940, it was tasked with the transport of the entire front supplies of the Luftwaffe. In 1941 with the attack on Russia, the Transportkorps also secured the supply lines to the Eastern Front. Another task was the transportation of stolen artwork to Germany. At the height of its existence, the Transportkorps Speer consisted of 50,000 cars and 70,000 men.
