Two Award Documents (War Merit Cross with Swords) to Senior Nurse Hildegard Wittstock
A preliminary War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords certificate, measuring 149x210mm, near extremely fine condition with light fraying and creasing, and two punched holes, one of which has been ripped. A Hindenburg Cross certificate, measuring 210x147mm, near extremely fine condition with light scuffing and creasing, a folding crease, and two punched holes that are slightly ripped. The preliminary War Merit Cross certificate is dated to Berlin on October 6, 1944, given out immediately and “on the spot”, and the actual certificate will follow. It was awarded on behalf of the mayor. The Hindenburg Cross certificate is dated to Berlin on February 8, 1935, awarded on behalf of the president of the police. Both documents were awarded to städtische Oberschwester (municipal Senior Nurse) Hildegard Wittstock.
